K2O_POP is a gel-type, strong-base anion exchange resin developed specifically for the removal of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from drinking water.
Its tributylamine functional group and crosslinked polystyrene matrix provide high selectivity for harmful compounds such as PFOA, PFOS, PFBS, and PFBA.
This enables water utilities and industrial users to achieve non-detect levels of PFAS under high linear velocity conditions while maintaining mechanical integrity and long cycle life.
PFAS are persistent pollutants found in firefighting foams, coatings, textiles, and industrial processes. Due to their chemical stability, they accumulate in groundwater and resist traditional treatment methods. Health agencies around the world are introducing strict regulatory limits. Conventional methods like activated carbon often struggle with short-chain PFAS, while membrane technologies such as reverse osmosis lead to costly concentrate management. K2O_POP offers a reliable, selective, and regenerable alternative for drinking water producers.
K2O_POP is certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) under the Gold Seal Program, confirming compliance with:
• NSF/ANSI 44 for water softening
systems
• NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 for drinking
• water system components
• NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 for low lead
content
These certifications support its safe use in
residential and municipal water treatment
across global markets.
Thanks to its strong mechanical properties and bead uniformity (≥93% whole beads), LSI 106G handles high-pressure applications with ease. Its bulk density (650–750 g/L) and moisture content (40–50%) ensure optimal performance in both new installations and retrofit scenarios. Flow rates of up to 20 bed volumes/hour can be maintained without compromising PFAS capture efficiency.
Comparative tests with K2O_POP and competing products (e.g., TP108) show significantly higher PFAS removal efficiency. In static adsorption experiments, even at low dosages (20 g), LSI 106G effectively reduced concentrations of PFBA, PFBS, and PFOS. At standard resin doses (~200 g), it achieved non-detect levels across all tested PFAS compounds, including both long- and short-chain species.
In dynamic column tests, K2O_POP also exhibited a markedly delayed breakthrough curve for PFOS and PFOA compared to three competing resins, confirming its superior longevity and operating capacity under high-flow conditions.
K2O_POP was subjected to regeneration and reuse testing, simulating long-term operating conditions. Even after full regeneration cycles, the resin retained high removal capacity, as illustrated below. This enables not only cost-efficient operation but also positions LSI 106G as a sustainable solution with lower waste generation and longer resin life.

K2O_POP is available in various formats suited for small- and large-scale applications:
Each package is sealed to maintain resin integrity and prevent contamination. Custom packing solutions are available upon request.
The resin should be stored above 0°C in dry, sealed containers away from direct sunlight. It must not be mixed with strong oxidizers due to exothermic reaction risk. Wetting dry resin leads to expansion and potential heat release. Follow standard safety procedures during handling and ensure compliance with local disposal regulations.
