We started developing the solution in our test laboratory. There we carry out various processes, such as cleaning, coating and drying the Smart Surface Solution.We started developing the solution in our test laboratory in Bruchsal. What was once a small test laboratory became bigger and bigger. From a small side laboratory in the office, we have now upgraded to an additional laboratory room. But that’s not all. Next year we will start to fully build up production at our own site, financed by our investors, where we will produce tons of products every day.
What does production look like?
In order to realize the patented solution, we carry out various processes, such as cleaning, coating and drying the Smart Surface Solution.
After our silica beads are weighed and vacuum packed, we put our sticker on it and send it to our customers.
Once everything is in place, the solution has been weighed and sent out to the customer, the whole process starts all over again.
The only difference is that we extract the microplastic and send it to our partner companies so that they can recycle the nanoplastic particles. Our silica beads then receive a new bio-chemical coating and are reused.
As we are a start-up, we never run out of creativity. Everyone in the team helps out diligently and pitches in together.
For example, we invented this scaffolding ourselves for dripping the solution. With a little enthusiasm for craftsmanship and a 3D printer, we were able to make production easier.
If it doesn’t fit, we adapt it. We can also bend ourselves, with all our might. This allows us to fill the silica balls from the tray into the vacuum packs faster and more accurately.
Our students not only learn in their subject area but also grow beyond themselves. It is important to us that they also learn skills that are not only useful at work and for their studies, but also for life.

Also, Reverse Osmosis companies have a notable drawback in their sustainability, requiring significant water consumption for cleaning filters – often averaging between 5 to 10 liters per filter. This raises environmental concerns and challenges the overall ecological footprint.
Upcoming projects
We are currently working on a closed filter loop with our regeneration reactor, which means, that filter in the industrial section, that are incorporated within the water flow, do now have to be exchanged after a few months. The regeneration takes place on site within a closed loop, meaning, we could build filter, lasting for years!
